At The H.O.M.E. Center of Asheville,

we are dedicated to transforming lives by fostering self-esteem, self-awareness, and renewed thinking among young men. Our mission is clear: to empower men of color to become leaders within their families and communities through mentorship, support, and opportunities for growth. We envision a future where these men lead with purpose and dignity, breaking cycles of disadvantage and inspiring others to do the same.

Why We Exist

Our organization was born out of the urgent need to address the systemic barriers faced by men of color. These challenges include disparities in education, employment, and criminal justice, as well as social stigmas that hinder progress and opportunity. The data is undeniable: men of color face incarceration rates disproportionate to their population size, coupled with inequitable wages and limited access to resources. These issues reverberate through generations, creating cycles of poverty, instability, and lost potential.

Recognizing these challenges, The H.O.M.E. Center takes a holistic approach to tackling them. Guided by Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, we ensure our programs address not only basic necessities like food and clothing but also foster personal and professional development. Our services are tailored to uplift individuals, creating pathways to self-sufficiency and community leadership.

Our Board of Directors

is the very foundation of our organization. The success and direction of The H.O.M.E. Center of Asheville relies on these group of leaders and their willingness to guide our efforts ethically to the best of their abilities.
